Tech Savvy Seniors - Smartphones Tablets and Social Media
Phones used to be all about making calls, but now your mobile phone can do so much more. The range of new touch screen phones allow you to access the internet, use social media, get live news updates, play music and videos, and much, much more. However, this can be a challenge for people new to the technology. In this workshop for Seniors 60+ (or ATSI 50+), you will learn the basics of how to navigate your way around a smartphone with a touch screen. You will learn how to turn your phone on and off safely, make and receive calls, add a contact and look up a contact, change the volume of your ringer, as well as learn briefly about apps, what they are, how to download them, and the cost associated with them. The Tech Savvy Seniors program is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.
